What TradePlanr is
TradePlanr is job-management software for UK tradespeople. It covers the whole run of a job in one place: booking it into the diary, quoting for it, recording the labour and materials it consumed, issuing the certificate or sign-off it needs, invoicing for it and taking the payment.
It is used by plumbers, gas and heating engineers, electricians, builders, roofers, renewable installers and general trades — mostly sole traders and small firms of a few engineers rather than large field-service operations.
Why it exists
Most software sold to tradespeople is either built for an office team and priced per user, or it is a generic invoicing tool that knows nothing about a Landlord Gas Safety Record or an EICR. Neither fits someone running a business from a van between jobs.
TradePlanr was built the other way round: start from the paperwork a UK trade actually has to produce, make it possible to finish that paperwork on a phone before leaving the customer's drive, and charge one flat price instead of a licence per person.
How it is built
The app is offline-first. Plant rooms, lofts and new-build sites rarely have signal, so jobs, photos, readings and signatures are captured on the device and sync when the phone reconnects rather than failing at the point of use.
It is UK-specific by design rather than by translation. VAT is handled the way HMRC expects, certificate templates follow the current British Standards and OFTEC forms, and electronic signatures rely on the UK's Electronic Communications Act 2000 and eIDAS regulations.
Everything syncs across iPhone, Android and the web, so a job booked on site is on the office screen without anyone re-typing it.
What it does not try to be
TradePlanr is not an accounting ledger. It pushes invoices, payments and expenses into Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent so your accountant keeps working the way they already do.
It is not an enterprise field-service platform either — there is no dispatch optimisation or per-technician licensing, because that is not what a firm with one to ten engineers needs.
Pricing, plainly
You can create jobs, quotes and invoices for free without giving a card. The 23 trade calculators and the toolbox are free for everyone, permanently.
TradePlanr Pro is £9.99 a month or £99.99 a year, which is two months free, and starts with a 7-day free trial. There are no per-user fees and no setup charges, and you can cancel whenever you like.
