For whoever actually runs the office

Four engineers, one diary, nobody ringing round.

When the business outgrows one van, the office becomes the thing holding it together. TradePlanr puts the diary, the job records, the certificates and the invoicing on one screen, so you can answer any question a customer asks without phoning an engineer to find out.

The daily juggle

Everything below is a phone call you shouldn't have to make.

Nobody knows where anyone is

A customer rings asking what time someone's coming, and finding out means interrupting two people. Share the diary and the answer is on your screen already.

Jobs finished but never invoiced

Work gets done, the paperwork doesn't come back in, and the invoice quietly never goes out. When the invoice builds off the completed job, finished work stops silently falling out of the billing.

Certificates living in the vans

Somebody wants a copy of a certificate from March and it's in a pad in a van in Warrington. Certificates issued in the app are stored against the job, ready to send.

Disputes with nothing to point at

A customer says they never agreed to the extra work. A signed sign-off with a date and the scope attached ends that conversation before it becomes a credit note.

Run the whole board from one screen

A shared diary the whole team works off

Book the job once and the engineer sees it on their phone. Share a single job with a subbie by link — address, scope, notes and photos — and they turn up ready without needing an account.

Every job in one state you can see

Quoted, booked, done, invoiced, paid. Unpaid, part-paid and overdue at a glance, so nothing sits in limbo because the person who knew about it was on holiday.

Certificates without the paperwork run

Issue certificates digitally against the job with the customer's signature captured on the phone, and pull any of them up months later without going near a filing cabinet.

Signed sign-offs as standard

The customer signs on the engineer's phone at handover. The signature, the date and the scope are stored on the job — which is the cheapest insurance a trade business can have.

Variations logged, not absorbed

Small extras are where margin quietly disappears. Each one gets logged against the job with a price, so it reaches the invoice instead of the engineer's memory.

Automatic appointment reminders

TradePlanr texts customers the day before to confirm the slot, and again when annual work such as a service or gas safety check falls due — cutting no-shows and bringing repeat work back round without you making the calls.

Common questions

How many people can work off the same diary?

Share your calendar with the office and your engineers so they can view and manage jobs from their own device or in a browser. You decide what gets shared and with whom — nothing leaves your account without you.

Do subcontractors need their own account?

No. To view a shared job they just open the link on any phone or browser. If you want them helping manage the diary, they can use the free app or the web.

What certificates does it cover?

A large library covering electrical, gas, heating, renewables and general trades, all issued and stored digitally against the job. Browse the full list on the certificates page.

Does it work where the engineers actually are?

Yes — the diary and job records are offline-first, so basements, new-builds and rural jobs still work. Everything syncs when the phone gets signal back.

What does it cost?

Free to start with no card, so you can get the diary going before you commit to anything. Pro is £9.99 a month or £99.99 a year after a 7-day free trial, and covers card payments, certificates and the rest of the app — the pricing page has the current detail.

The thing that changed was people ringing me to ask where they were meant to be. It's all on the board now — I spend the morning on customers instead of on the phone to our own lads.
