Since the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020, landlords must have the fixed electrical installation in a rented property inspected and tested at least every five years, and give the report to their tenants. The report is an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) to BS 7671, presented for the landlord's duties.
