Ideal Boiler Fault Codes
Ideal Logic, Logic+, Vogue and Independent combi, system and heat-only boilers. Faults show as an L or F prefix followed by a number on the display (L2, F1, L1), plus a few C codes for sensor faults — the L codes are usually lockouts you can reset, the F codes are operating faults.
Applies to: Logic, Logic+, Logic Max, Vogue, Vogue Max, Independent
Ideal C2
Sensor fault (thermistor out of range)
A temperature sensor is reading outside its expected range, so the boiler has flagged a sensor fault.
Ideal F1
Low water pressure
System pressure has dropped too low for the boiler to run, so it has stopped and shown F1.
Ideal F2
Flame loss / no flame detected
The boiler has lost or cannot detect the flame while running, so it has shut the gas off.
Ideal F3
Fan fault
The fan is not running at the speed the boiler expects, so it will not light for safety.
Ideal L1
No / low water flow — circulation fault
The boiler is not sensing enough water flow through it, so it has shut down to protect the heat exchanger.
Ideal L2
Ignition lockout / flame loss
The boiler tried to light but failed to detect a stable flame after several attempts, so it has locked out for safety.
Ideal L5
Fan speed / fan lockout fault
The boiler has locked out because the fan is not reaching or holding the speed it expects.
